Identification Number assigned to your property by the Ottawa County Auditor.

Tax District
This is the area where property is located.

Owner and Address
This is the name and address of the property owner.

Tax Year
Real Estate taxes are collected one (1) year in arrears in the State of Ohio.

Taxable Value
Taxable value is an assessment of 35% of the appraised value of the property. In Ohio, property taxes are levied against the assessed value.

Gross Tax Rate
Total millage for the year. This rate is a percentage

Effective Tax Rate
The Annual total millage LESS State mandated reductions. This rate is a percentage.

Appraised Value
The market value of property is determined by reappraisals done by the County Auditor.

Subtotal
Amount of tax before credits.

Credit
Maintains the existing level of taxes paid on voted millage. The taxing district collects the same amount of revenue that was voted regardless of increased property values, except for added value from new construction.

Non-Business Credit
Tax relief measure adopted by the State Legislature which grants a 10% reduction on “Qualifying Levies” approved before September 29, 2013 (O.R.C. 319.302).

Owner Occupancy Credit
Tax relief measure adopted by the State Legislature which grants a 2.5% reduction on “Qualifying Levies” approved before September 29, 2013 to owner-occupied homes ;( O.R.C. 323.152(B). You must apply for this credit through the County Auditor.

Homestead Reduction
A credit given to residential property owners who meet certain age, income, and other requirements. You must apply for this credit through the County Auditor.

CAUV Recoup
Assessed amount if the parcel is removed from the farm credit program. One time charge.

Current Assessments
Total of the special assessments as listed at the right of this document.

Delinquent
Amount owing prior to this tax billing.

Half Year Due
Pay this amount if you wish to pay only one-half or your tax. Another bill will be mailed to you in June for the 2nd half tax.

Full Year Due
Pay this amount if you wish to pay the full years tax.
